DeskStreamer 3.1

NOTE: DeskStreamer was formerly called DeskCam, but has been renamed
because there was already a smiliar program called DeskCam.

1. What is DeskStreamer?
------------------------

DeskStreamer consists of a server that streams screenshots across the network which can be received using the included viewer application. You can think of DeskStreamer as a webcam for your desktop.


2. What's new in 3.0?
---------------------

- Fully rewritten in C/C++
- High performance compression using VFW
- Optimized Streaming Server
- Windows Stream Viewer

NOTE: Version 3.0 is no longer open source.


3. What's new in 3.1?
---------------------

- You can now choose the framerate for the broadcasting
- Default codec changed to FFDS (ffdshow)

Please note that DeskStreamer 3.1 is still BETA.
It does not yet work with all codecs. DeskStreamer has been tested with ffdshow MPEG4, DivX5 and Microsoft's MPEG4 codec.
